Keep you heart pure.

The heart becomes corrupt in 6 ways:

1. Committing sins in the hope of repenting.

2. Seeking knowledge and not applying it.

3. Practicing without iklhas (sincerity)

4. Eating the sustenance of Allah SWT without appreciating Him.

5. Not being pleased with Allah SWT's decree.

6. Burying the dead without learning from them.

  2. Salam (peace),

I pray this message finds you well.

I can never quite understand how people can make completely unfounded and rhetoric claims. Islam is based on modesty, so the male is absolutely supposed to be modest. You may find it useful to just 'google' the hijab in order to get a basic understanding of its purpose and to save yourself from future embarrassment.

    Sincerely,

    A Muslimah

P.S. wikipedia defines the 'hijab' as modesty, privacy, and morality. Therefore it's not just the head-covering worn by Muslim women.

  3. Dear anonymous hater:

Please relax, no need for profanity. You can ask us politely and we would be more than happy to answer.

As the sister mentioned, Islam requires modesty of both men and women. It is out of respect and honour for the human being that desires should be controlled, and our beauty reserved for our spouses.

However, men and women are different, and the level of modesty is different for both. That is why the commercials you see will mostly have scantily clad women, but not so much for men.

The Quran starts by commanding men not to look at unrelated women.

"Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.
And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, ..." Quran 24:30-31

When a woman covers her hair, and wears loose revealing clothing rather than tight fitting pants, she is far less likely to be treated like a sex object, and will be treated for who she is.

The reason the Quran gives for modest dress (33:59) is that the women will not be harmed, or harassed.

When men are lowering their gaze, and women are dressed modestly, you have a far more respectful society, not obsessed with sex and objectification.

Hope this clarified, and please in the future ask politely

  4. Salam,

Can you clarify "Committing sins in the hope of repenting?" Does it mean committing a sin, while thinking that one can repent for it later?
